In between the soft hills of the Chianti, the Castello di San Polo stands 500 metres above sea level. Due to its unusual location between the cultural cities of Florence and Siena, it offers an ideal location for exploring Tuscany.
It is also not far to the famous art centres of Tuscany. The mediaeval jewel San Gimignano, with its famous clock tower, can be reached within 45 minutes, the historical city of Arezzo is only an hour away.
Nearby cultural treasures
The castle is surrounded by a landscape which is as well known for its vineyards and forests as it is for its wealth of priceless art treasures, impressive castles, monasteries and fortified villages.
The Chiatni Classico also has a multitude of hidden cultural gems, which are well worth discovering.
Good transport connections
The Castello di San Polo has a very good infrastructure. The mediaeval castle in the Chianti can be easily reached via the Superstrada Florence-Siena as well as via the A1 Milan-Rome.
Pisa, Florence or Rome Airport
Anyone travelling by plane won’t have far to go from the Tuscan airports Pisa and Florence to the castle. Alternatively, you can fly to Rome, which is about a three hour drive from the Castello di San Polo.
